Introducing Girls to “Big Ideas” in STEM Fields.

STEM Girls Camp is a 5-day STEM Summer camp for 3rd-8th grade girls.  Programming includes cool hands-on activities, sessions with STEM professionals and a field trip. Campers explore a wide range of careers related to feeding, fueling, healing and saving the world! On the last day of camp, parents are invited to join their children at camp for a picnic and barbecue to share in and celebrate their week of STEM exploration!

The STEMGirls camps in Red Bud and Waukegan successfully increased girls’ positive feelings for STEM activities, increased their familiarity with STEM careers, and had broad strong support from families. Further students from both camps increased their interest in pursuing a STEM career after they leave school.

Broadly the parents from both programs had very strong positive ratings for the program. More than 75% of parents strongly agreed that the program made STEM seem fun for their daughter(s), that Family Day was a good way to interact with their daughter, overall the program was good for their daughter, and that the program will have a lasting positive impact on their daughter after the summer is over.

That they actually did something every day that was fun and exciting. My daughter was showing me something new each night that she made herself and was proud of. I like that it increased her confidence in being able to problem solve on her own.

I love that you challenge these girls to think for themselves, and in areas schools can’t offer enough exposure to for any kid.
